# Validation as a Discipline

## Overview

Validation is not a footnote in Provalytics. It is an ongoing discipline.

A model can produce outputs. That does not automatically mean those outputs deserve trust.

## What validation protects

Validation helps answer:

* Do the modeled relationships generalize?
* Are predictions staying close enough to reality?
* Are coefficient relationships stable enough to support decisions?

## How the framework thinks about it

From the modeling framework, validation is continuous rather than one-time. The goal is stable, interpretable, operationally useful estimation of incremental media impact.

That is why Provalytics treats predicted-vs-actual behavior, holdout performance, and refresh-over-refresh stability as part of model confidence rather than an afterthought.
