Google Sheets Delivery is a lightweight ingestion route for teams that need a fast, accessible way to maintain recurring structured inputs. This is one of the simplest ways to share custom and non-conforming data with Provalytics when the source already lives in a structured sheet.

What it is best for

Google Sheets is useful when:
  • the dataset is operational but relatively lightweight
  • the source team is comfortable managing structured rows in a sheet
  • speed and accessibility matter more than warehouse complexity

It is often a good fit for:
  • smaller recurring datasets
  • planning tables
  • operational override inputs
  • quick-start delivery paths while a more durable integration is being built
The tradeoff is that Sheets are easy to use, but they also require stronger discipline around consistency and structure.

How to share a Google Sheet with Provalytics

To enable a Google Sheet as a data source:
  1. Open the Google Sheet you want Provalytics to read.
  2. Share it with Viewer access to: getprova-share-google-sheet@bq-fivetran.iam.gserviceaccount.com
  3. Send the Google Sheet URL to your CSR.
Once your CSR has the sheet address, the Provalytics team can map the sheet into the correct delivery workflow for your account.

Best practices for the sheet itself

Google Sheets work best when:
  • the tab structure stays stable
  • column names remain consistent
  • the data is updated on the same cadence as the rest of your reporting inputs
  • historical data is backfilled when available before the source goes live
If historical data exists, backfilling it first gives the model more context before the data starts appearing in the live dashboard.
